Lecturers and Students of Agroecotechnology Study Program UNSRI Conduct Academic Visit to Agroecotechnology Study Program UNUD

In an effort to expand academic knowledge and strengthen inter-university collaboration, the Agroecotechnology Study Program of Sriwijaya University (UNSRI) conducted an academic visit to the Agroecotechnology Study Program of Udayana University (UNUD). This activity is part of an academic field trip undertaken by UNSRI students and accompanying lecturers to Bali and Malang from February 1 to 8, 2025. Five lecturers participated in this visit: Dr. Susilawati, S.P., M.Si., Weri Herlin, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D., Dr. Marlin Sefrila, S.P., M.Si., Lya Naitalul Fadilah, S.P., M.Si., and Liestriani, S.KM.

The event took place at the Faculty of Agriculture, Agrocomplex Building, 2nd floor, UNUD Sudirman Campus. In the opening remarks, representatives of the Agroecotechnology Study Program UNSRI emphasized the importance of this visit as a means of knowledge exchange between students and academics from both universities. This welcome was warmly received by the Head of the Agroecotechnology Study Program of UNUD, who extended a formal greeting to the UNSRI delegation. Subsequently, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of UNUD officially opened the event, expressing hopes for continued inter-university collaboration, particularly in agroecotechnology, which plays a crucial role in sustainable agriculture.

To provide further insight, UNSRI students and lecturers had the opportunity to watch a profile video of the Faculty of Agriculture UNUD, followed by an in-depth presentation on the Agroecotechnology Study Programs of both universities. Additionally, students received an explanation of the Agroecotechnology Student Association of UNUD, which serves as a platform for students to contribute to research-based agricultural development and innovation.

  Furthermore, UNSRI students were given the opportunity to visit several research laboratories at the Faculty of Agriculture UNUD. This visit was conducted in six rotating groups, with each session lasting 15 minutes. The laboratories visited included; Agronomy and Horticulture Laboratory, Soil Science and Environmental Laboratory, Plant Breeding and Seed Technology Laboratory, Integrated Pest Management (IPM/PHT) Laboratory, Plant Pest and Disease (HPT) Laboratory, and Biotechnology Laboratory.

  This visit provided UNSRI students with valuable insights into research methods, the latest technology, and the application of innovations in agriculture. Students also had the opportunity to observe research activities firsthand and engage in discussions with lecturers and researchers from each laboratory. Additionally, this academic visit is expected to serve as a foundation for further collaboration between the Agroecotechnology Study Programs of UNSRI and UNUD, paving the way for future research partnerships and academic exchanges in the field of sustainable agricultural development.
